Level privacy policy

Publisher: Pineapple Byte
Effective date: 2026-10-29
About the app ↗

This policy applies to Level for Android, package com.pineapplebyte.level, published by Pineapple Byte. Contact: pineapplebyteco@gmail.com.

Measurement and device information

Level uses device motion sensors to calculate inclination and display orientation. It reads battery status for its instrument display and can provide sound and vibration cues. Sensor readings are processed on the device for these features; Level does not send measurement readings to a Pineapple server. It does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts or background-location access. Network access is used for advertising, consent and Google Play services, not to upload measurements.

Local settings and data

Calibration, selected options and instrument preferences are stored in app-private device storage. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes this local information. Android app backup is disabled for Level; no Pineapple account, cloud synchronization or app-managed cloud recovery is offered.

Advertising and privacy choices

The free version uses a Google AdMob banner and Google’s User Messaging Platform. Requests follow the consent SDK’s permission to request ads and the app’s ad-removal entitlement. If required by the consent SDK, an advertising privacy choices control is available in the instrument’s Settings menu. A confirmed ad-removal purchase stops in-app ad requests.

Google’s advertising services may process IP addresses and approximate IP-derived location, advertising or device identifiers, app and ad interactions, and SDK diagnostic data for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Practices depend on region, consent and device settings. Sensor measurements and calibration are not attached as ad-targeting fields. See Google’s advertising SDK disclosures and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Purchases

Google Play handles payment for the one-time ad-removal purchase. Level receives purchase information and verifies the package, product, completed state and signed receipt on the device. It privately caches the signed receipt and purchase status so verified ad removal can remain available offline, and acknowledges completed purchases with Google Play. It does not receive payment card details or share purchases with other Pineapple apps.

Restoring purchases queries Google Play using your current Play account. Refunds or revocation can remove cached ownership after a successful ownership check; offline periods or Play caching can delay this. Clearing storage removes the cached receipt; an eligible purchase can be restored through Play. Level does not operate a custom purchase-verification server.

Service providers and security

Google provides advertising, consent and billing. These providers may process information outside your country, with their own retention and controls. Removing Level’s local data does not remove provider-held records. App-private storage reduces unauthorized access but no storage or transmission method guarantees complete security. Level does not add a separate analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Your controls and contact

Use Android settings to manage advertising identifiers, clear local storage or uninstall. Use Google Play to manage purchases. Where applicable, use Level’s advertising privacy control to revisit choices. Email Pineapple Byte for privacy questions. Support messages are information you voluntarily send; avoid payment details, purchase tokens and sensitive personal information. We cannot retrieve your device’s calibration or measurements remotely.

Changes

We may update this policy when Level or its providers change. The publication date on this page identifies the effective version. Contact us with questions about changes.
